For a measurement and instrumentation class, I decided to characterize a pneumatic dashpot. I chose this because I'm particularly interested in Dynamics, so I wished to test one of the most commonly used assumptions, which is that dashpots/dampers generate a force proportional to velocity (F = -b*v). Below are a poster and technical paper created as part of the class requirements. I'm not too proud of the paper as I took too long on the experimentation and had to rush the written portion.
